A Typelevel Prospectus
Session Abstract
Learn more about Typelevel, the open source organization that stewards development of projects such as Cats Effect, http4s, and Circe, and offers one of the most comprehensive cross-platform stacks for the Scala ecosystem. In this talk, you will discover the people and processes driving this work and how you can participate.
Session Description
Typelevel as an organization has grown a lot in the last year, since we became a nonprofit Foundation. I am excited to share with the broader Scala community about everything we’ve accomplished, where we are going, and how they can become involved.
Three goals for this talk are to:
1. Give an overview of who Typelevel is and what we do.
2. Provide transparency into our governance, community, and technical operations.
3. Share opportunities and invite the community to become involved.
Along the way, I will briefly cover specific projects and initiatives in more detail, to highlight examples and success stories.
More broadly, perhaps this talk will also offer insights about how to foster community and sustainable growth in open source.
